Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has modernized its payment infrastructure. To protect beneficiaries from fraudulent deductions by agents, the government has transitioned toward a fully digital and biometric-based ecosystem.
The current quarterly installment is Rs. 13,500, but for the March 2026 cycle coinciding with Ramadan, an additional Rs. 1,000 bonus has been added, bringing the total to Rs. 14,500.

1. The New 8171 Digital Wallet
In 2026, BISP introduced the Social Protection Wallet. Instead of rushing to a campsite on a specific day, the money is now transferred to your digital account.
- Verification: You receive an SMS from 8171 when funds are credited.
- Control: You can keep the money in the wallet and withdraw it in smaller amounts whenever needed.
- Activation: Requires a one-time biometric verification at a BISP Tehsil Office or partner bank.
2. BISP Sahulat Bank Accounts
For long-term financial stability, BISP has partnered with the State Bank of Pakistan to provide Sahulat Accounts.
- Bank Partners: HBL, Bank Alfalah, and Mobilink Microfinance Bank are the primary partners for 2026.
- ATM Access: Beneficiaries are issued a specialized debit card. You can go to any biometric-enabled ATM, scan your thumb, and receive your full Rs. 13,500 without any human interference.
3. JazzCash & EasyPaisa Integration
For the current 2026 cycle, many districts have been shifted to JazzCash.
- Registration: Your JazzCash account must be registered on the same CNIC used for BISP.
- Withdrawal: You can withdraw at any JazzCash shop. Warning: The agent is not allowed to charge any fee. If they demand money, call 0800-26477 immediately.
How to Check Your Payment Status Online
Before leaving your home, always verify that your payment has been “Released.”
- Web Portal: Visit 8171.bisp.gov.pk.
- CNIC Check: Enter your 13-digit CNIC number.
- Status Result: * Payment Released: You can go to the bank or shop.
- Under Verification: Your data is being audited; wait for the next phase.
- Survey Required: Your 3-year term has expired; visit a BISP office for a new survey.
Pro-Tips for Safe Collection
- Thumbprint Issues: If your fingerprints aren’t matching at the ATM, visit NADRA to update your biometric record.
- Full Amount: For March 2026, ensure you receive the full Rs. 14,500 (Installment + Ramadan Bonus).
- Official SMS: Ignore any message that does not come from 8171. Messages from private 11-digit mobile numbers are scams.
