1. How to Check Your Payment Online (8171 Portal)
The most reliable way to see if your cash has been released is the official web portal.
- Step 1: Visit 8171.bisp.gov.pk.
- Step 2: Enter your 13-digit CNIC number in the first box.
- Step 3: Enter the Captcha Code (the numbers shown in the image).
- Step 4: Click “Check Eligibility” (اہلیت جانیے).
Status Tip: If the portal says “Payment Released,” you can visit an agent. If it says “Ineligible,” you may need a new NSER Dynamic Survey at your nearest Tehsil office.
2. SMS Verification Guide (Offline Method)
If you don’t have internet access, follow these steps:
- Open your mobile’s messaging app.
- Type your CNIC Number (e.g.,
3520112345678). - Send it to 8171.
- You will receive an automated reply within a few minutes confirming your balance and eligibility.
3. New for 2026: The Digital Wallet System
To eliminate long queues, the government has integrated mobile wallets.
- JazzCash & EasyPaisa: If your mobile account is registered on the same CNIC as your BISP profile, you may receive your funds directly in your wallet.
- HBL Konnect & Bank Alfalah: You can also use the “BISP” option in these apps to check and move your funds.
- Biometric Mandatory: Even with digital wallets, your first activation requires a one-time biometric thumbprint at an authorized retailer.
4. Most Informative Updates for March 2026
- Phase 3 Launch: While most receive funds now, Phase 3 for pending districts is scheduled to begin on May 19, 2026.
- Zero Deduction Policy: It is strictly illegal for any agent to deduct “fees” from your Rs. 13,500. You must receive the full amount and a printed receipt.
- Ramadan Relief: Some beneficiaries have been upgraded to Rs. 14,500 as part of a special 2026 Ramadan subsidy package. Check your 8171 SMS for this specific amount.
⚠️ Troubleshooting Common Issues
- “Record Not Found”: This means your survey is older than 3 years. Visit a BISP office for a Dynamic Survey.
- Expired CNIC: Your payment will be blocked if your ID card is expired. Renew it via NADRA first.
- Biometric Failure: If your thumbprints don’t match, visit the NADRA office for a “Biometric Update” and then re-try the payment.
