The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has officially begun releasing the first quarterly installment for the year. The amount has been confirmed at Rs. 13,500 for eligible families.
The government has prioritized digital convenience this year, allowing you to check your status entirely from home without the need to visit a crowded Tehsil office.
1. Method 1: Check Online via 8171 Web Portal
The official web portal is the most detailed way to check your eligibility, amount status, and any pending installments.
- Step 1: Open your mobile or computer browser and visit 8171.bisp.gov.pk.
- Step 2: Enter your 13-digit CNIC number (without dashes).
- Step 3: Enter the 4-digit Captcha code shown in the image on the screen.
- Step 4: Click the “Check” (اہلیت جانیے) button.
What the results mean:
- “Eligible” (اہل): Your payment is ready. You can visit a payment center or ATM.
- “Verification in Progress”: Your data is being checked; wait for 24–48 hours.
- “Register through NSER”: You need to visit a BISP office to update your survey.
2. Method 2: Check via 8171 SMS (No Internet Required)
If you do not have a smartphone or data, you can use the SMS service. This is the fastest way to get an instant reply.
- Open your mobile’s SMS application.
- Type your 13-digit CNIC number (e.g.,
3520112345678). - Send this message to 8171.
- You will receive a reply message shortly with your status.
Note: Ensure you send the SMS from a SIM card registered on the same CNIC you are checking to avoid verification errors.
3. New for 2026: The BISP Digital Wallet
In a major update for 2026, over 100,000 beneficiaries have been shifted to the “Social Protection Wallet.” Instead of standing in long queues at campsites, these families now receive funds directly into mobile accounts.
- Partners: JazzCash, EasyPaisa, HBL Konnect, and Bank Alfalah.
- How it works: Once you receive a “Payment Released” SMS from 8171, the funds are automatically transferred to your linked digital wallet. You can withdraw them at any authorized retail shop or biometric-enabled ATM.

Important Safety Tips
- Avoid Scams: BISP never sends messages from personal mobile numbers. Only trust messages from 8171.
- No Fees: Checking your status and withdrawing your money is 100% free. If an agent asks for a “commission” or “fee,” report them to the BISP helpline immediately.
- Expired CNIC: If your CNIC has expired, your payment will be blocked. Visit NADRA first to renew your card before visiting a BISP center.
