The 2026 relief initiative is designed to combat the rising cost of essential items like flour, ghee, and sugar. Instead of waiting in long lines at utility stores, the government is now utilizing the BISP (Benazir Income Support Programme) and NSER databases to send funds directly to the people.
How to Check Eligibility via 9999 SMS
The most effective and fastest way to register your interest or check your status in 2026 is through the shortcode 9999:
- Open your phone’s messaging app.
- Enter your 13-digit CNIC number (do not include dashes or spaces).
- Send the message to 9999.
- You will receive a reply confirming if you are eligible for the Rs. 13,000 payment.

For those with internet access, the NITB (National Information Technology Board) has launched a dedicated web portal for 2026:
- Visit the official site: pmrrp.nitb.gov.pk.
- Enter your CNIC number in the verification box.
- The system will display your current status—whether your application is “Approved,” “Pending Verification,” or “Not Eligible.”
Provincial Updates: The Punjab 8070 Package
In addition to the federal Rs. 13,000, the Punjab Government under CM Maryam Nawaz has launched the Nigehban Ramzan Package 2026.
- Benefit: An additional Rs. 10,000 cash or a specialized “Nigehban Card.”
- Registration: Send your CNIC to 8070.
- Total Relief: Eligible families in Punjab can receive a combined total of Rs. 23,000 this Ramadan.
Eligibility Criteria for 2026
To ensure the money reaches the truly needy, the government has set strict digital filters:
- Income Cap: Your monthly household income must be below Rs. 60,000.
- Poverty Score: Families with a PMT (Poverty Score) below 32 are automatically prioritized.
- Government Job: Regular government employees or high-income tax filers are generally not eligible.
- Property/Assets: Individuals owning luxury vehicles or large agricultural land may be disqualified through the automated system.
How to Receive the Payment
Once you receive an “Eligible” SMS from 9999 or 8171, the funds will be available through:
- Biometric ATMs: Use your thumbprint at partner bank ATMs (HBL, Bank of Punjab, etc.).
- Digital Wallets: Payments are being credited to BISP-linked mobile wallets like JazzCash or Easypaisa.
- Point of Sale (POS): Authorized retail agents in your local tehsil.
