the Government of Pakistan has officially rolled out the Ramzan Ration Card (widely known as the Nigehban Card or PM Ramzan Relief Package). This year, the program is a hybrid model providing both Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 13,000 cash and discounted essential food items through a digital tracking system.

1. Eligibility Criteria (Who Can Apply?)
To qualify for the 2026 package, households must meet the following socio-economic benchmarks:
- Income Limit: Monthly household income must be below Rs. 60,000.
- Poverty Score: A PMT (Poverty) score below 30% (verified via NSER/PSER database).
- Residential Status: Must be a permanent resident of Pakistan with a valid CNIC.
- Asset Exclusion: No family member should own a registered car (motorcycles are allowed) or have traveled abroad for non-religious purposes.
- Government Service: High-grade government employees and their immediate families are ineligible.
2. How to Apply Online (Step-by-Step)
If you haven’t been automatically registered through the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), follow these steps:
A. Online via PSER Portal (For Punjab)
- Visit the pser.punjab.gov.pk portal.
- Click on “Register New Family” and create a login.
- Fill in the digital form with your family composition, housing type, and income details.
- Upload a clear photo of your CNIC (front and back).
- Submit and wait for a verification visit or SMS.
B. Via SMS Registration (Nationwide)
- For Punjab Residents: Type your CNIC number (without dashes) and send it to 8070.
- For Federal/BISP Users: Send your CNIC to 9999 or 8171.
- Result: You will receive a message stating “Eligible,” “Not Eligible,” or “Register via PSER.”
3. How to Check Status for 2026
If you have already applied, you can track your status using these methods:
- Web Check: Log in to the PSER Portal to see if your application is “Approved” or “Pending Verification.”
- Official Helpline: Call 0800-02345 for Punjab or 8171 for federal queries.
- Utility Store Check: Visit any Utility Store; the staff can scan your CNIC on their point-of-sale (POS) machine to verify your Ramzan subsidy.
4. How to Receive the Benefits
- Nigehban Card: Eligible families are being issued a digital ATM card. You can use this at HBL Konnect, UBL Omni, or designated bank ATMs to withdraw the Rs. 10,000 cash grant.
- Digital Ration: Present your CNIC at any registered Utility Store to get an immediate subsidy on a “Ramzan Rashan Bag” (containing 10kg flour, 2kg sugar, 2kg ghee, and pulses).
Important Safety Note
The registration process is entirely free. Please be wary of fraudulent WhatsApp groups or individuals asking for “processing fees.” Only trust SMS notifications from 8070, 9999, or 8171.
